Enjoy a ochanoma (living/dining space) with ground sitting low-table, a lounge/ work space furnished with modern premium interiors such as CH23 chair by Hans. J. Wegner offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere to be creative. The master bedroom covered with handmade Kurotani-washi paper for wall and celling to make it the ultimate minimalist retreat.
The room is also equipped with a coffee and tea station with a bar fridge and kettle, selected hand crafted Japanese pottery, private and spacious en-suite washroom with high-tech toilet.約４０畳の大宴会場を解体し、大屋根を支えている梁を露出させた大空間。そこから柳並木を一望できる絶景ビューが広がります。巨大な水府提灯が吊り下げられた「お茶の間」スペース、ソファやワークデスクが設えられた機能的な「ラウンジ」エリア、和紙作家ハタノワタル氏による手漉き和紙で包んだ幻想的な「ベッドルーム」などスイートルームらしい多様な使い方が可能です。また建立当時からの手すりや、型ガラス、錠前など古きよき時代を残しながらも、空気を汚さないヒーティングシステムや木製建具のペアガラスを採用するなど居住性も担保しました。 -

Taiyo (Sun)ペンダントライトA massive lantern floating on our Penthouse Suite is called 'Taiyo (Sun)' made in one of a few producing areas in Mito,Japan that carry forward old-fashioned handmade manufacturing methods using bamboo strips and washi. A scene from sunrise up from ocean, Taiyo is the implements of illumination handed down in Japan.最上階のペントハウス【吉右衛門スイート】に吊るされている巨大な提灯は、「太陽」と名付けられた水府提灯です。約400年の歴史をもつ、茨城県に伝わる伝統的な提灯づくりの技法を、島根県の石州和紙を使用して製作しました。水平線から昇った太陽が、水面から離れる一瞬の姿を形に表した美しい提灯です。

Masanobu Ando's coffee and tea sets安藤雅信の器Masanobu Ando is a ceramicist and owner of Galerie Momogusa in Tajimi City, the world-renowned ceramic city of Japan. Ando started his career creating contemporary art and studying Buddhism. Following this period, he channeled his influence derived from Zen culture into his works and began creating functional objects for daily life.安藤さんの器は、余分な装飾を省いた、禅にも通じるシンプルさが魅力です。それは無機質なシンプルさではなく、取手が切り欠かれていたり、完璧すぎないたわんだ曲線があったり、随所に作家的な引っかかりが刻まれた、非常にパーソナルな器です。用途を限定せず、和洋問わず使ってみてください。

Coffee Table (Vitra) By Isamu Noguchiイサム・ノグチのコーヒーテーブルIn creating his design for the Coffee Table, Isamu Noguchi translated the biomorphic aesthetic of his sculptural works into a piece of furniture with distinctive organic forms. Presumably for this reason, Noguchi regarded the table as his best furniture design. Two wooden leg elements, which are available in black ash, maple or walnut, are positioned at a right angle to provide a stable support for the heavy, sturdy glass top.20世紀を代表する彫刻家、イサム・ノグチのコーヒーテーブルは、ノグチが最初に作ったインテリア作品であり、ニューヨーク近代美術館の館長A・グッドイヤーの自邸のために作ったものが原型とされています。彫刻作品のような脚部は、一見すると不安定に見えますが、天板と直角に脚が配置されており、がたつきもなくしっかりと天板を支えています。「すべては彫刻である」というノグチの理念が垣間見えるこのテーブル。家具よりもアート作品という言葉が似合いそうです。
